Why you should go organic
Conventional lawn care chases a fast green-up with harsh-chemical shortcuts — and even hides plastic in the bag. Organic-first care builds the soil instead, for a lawn that gets stronger over time and stays safe for the people who live on it.
Most lawn fertilizer is full of plastic. Ours never has been.
Most "slow-release" synthetic fertilizers are tiny prills wrapped in a polymer — a plastic — shell. That coating times the nutrient release, and when it's empty it doesn't disappear. It stays in your soil and breaks down into microplastics, season after season.
We've never used it. Every Thrive visit feeds the soil with organic matter that fully breaks down — leaving nutrients behind, not plastic.
Every pound applied across our lawns over the past 6 years — without a single plastic coating.
An estimated 8,000+ lbs of microplastic coating kept out of Houston soil vs. a comparable synthetic program.

Common organic questions
Does organic lawn care actually work?+
Yes — it just works differently. Instead of forcing a quick green-up, organic care builds soil health and root strength so your lawn becomes thicker and more resilient over time. Many of our customers came to us skeptical and stayed for the results.
Is "slow-release" synthetic fertilizer really plastic?+
Many are. Polymer-coated controlled-release fertilizers wrap each granule in a thin plastic shell to meter out nutrients. Once the nutrients are gone, that coating remains in the soil and breaks down into microplastics. Our program never uses plastic-coated prills.
How does organic help with weeds?+
We focus on natural weed suppression: as your turf thickens and the soil gets healthier, grass naturally crowds out weeds over time. It's a soil-first approach rather than harsh-chemical control.
Can my kids and pets use the lawn right after?+
Our organic-first programs are designed with families, kids, and pets in mind — no "keep off" signs or long wait times like harsh-chemical treatments require.
